Apologies for not posting in the past week. I will personally acknowledge my untimely indiscretions to the 3 people who actually read this blog.
Work was fun. Pulled 32 straight hours between Wednesday and Thursday (in at 9am Wed, out at 3:30am Thurs, wfh 3:45am Thurs to 7:45am, in again at 8am Thurs, out at 5pm Thurs). I could have sworn that I wasn’t in banking or med school.
Minikitchen offerings have changed, for the better in my opinion. Starbucks Frappuccinos will be the death of me, or I will probably drown in a sea of Haribo gummi bears and Stacey’s Pita Chips.
Argued countless times with Michiganders about the auto bailouts. It’s hard for me to relate to their geographic allegiance and loyalties, especially when their families will be directly affected. But still, it’s a terrible idea and I stand by that assertion.
Hopped a plane on Saturday for Taiwan. First time back in 7 years, so I’m pretty excited. Note to self: never again fly Northwest Airlines by choice, especially since their entire fleet is about 20 years old. Osaka Airport was a huge letdown - completely deserted by 5pm. Kat and I looked everywhere for sukiyaki, but ended up settling for $9 ramen.
Working from the Taipei Google office today (Mon) and tomorrow. It’s on the 73rd floor of Taipei 101, high enough for me to have absolutely no cell phone reception. It’s small and cute, kind of like Google Cambridge, except for the 270 degree views of the entire country. And there’s a nap/massage pod here (picture to follow).
I’ll be in Taiwan until Jan 4th. Merry Non-existent Asian Christmas to all!
